I attack the medium portal (2 alchemist, 3 wolf rider, 4 necromancer inside)
i use 60 grunts. I have 62% HP, 57 cold resist, 28 fire resist, 66 normal resist.
alchemist have 200 cold damage
wolf rider have 125 normal damage
necromancer have 75 fire damage

Calculate how much I lose units:
fire damage/(1 + hero fire resistance) +
ice damage /(1 + grunt ice resistance + hero ice resistance) +
normal damage/(1 + hero normal resistance) =
300/(1 + 0,28) + 400/(1 + 0,3 + 0,57) + 375/(1 + 0,66) = 674,18

grunt have 130 HP (i have one upgrade and military research so it should add 10hp (+5 for one upgrade))

(130+5+5)*(1+0,62)=226,8 HP

how much i lost?
674,18/226,8=2,98

So, will die 2 grunts.

But, when i attack portal i lose 3 grunts.

Where do i make a mistake in the calculation?

I don't think there is a mistake, but 2,98 is almost 3 so I guess the numbers are taken to the nearest whole number.

Almost makes a difference. I counted losses at several different camps, attacking various units. In some cases, I lost 3 units at the calculated loss of 3.99, but not always.
Errors occur when attacked with upgrades units.
If in the calculations I assumed that I have no military research, then the calculations and combat in the camps have identical losses. Is it possible that the military research does not work in the battle?

*** Military research did not work, but this error has already been fixed.

I've been asking questions through tickets. Now that registration is fixed, I can ask my question here.

I've written a Battle Sim for camps. I've been able to get most of it working fairly accurately. I'm basically asking the same the question 2 different ways here.

Now that I'm trying to tweak it to include special abilities, I need to ask how the ratio penalty is calculated. More specifically, how is the Saurian DMG bonus calculated?

Through asking support, I've figured out that the ratio is 1 Saurian to 500 total UK. In the example below, it would be 3 to 1500.

I sent out this attack:

This was the end result:

The only thing that I can think of is that the Flamekin's hidden UK is counted as part of the total UK. That would bring the UK up to 1508 (above the 1:5 ratio).

Is this the case and how is the 49.7% calculated?

I think I figured it out.

The hidden UK is included in the total.

The ratio penalty is 0.1 for every 2 UK above the ratio limit.

EDIT:
I have to correct my ratio penalty calculation.

The correct penalty is 0.1 for every 0.01 above the ratio limit.

This is calculated by dividing the total UK by the total UK of the Saurians.

For example, 2,537 total UK divided by 500 Saurian UK = 5.07 (Rounded down to nearest 100th).
Therefore, the penalty is 0.7%, or a bonus of 49.3% damage.

Hi David,
sorry for the belated answer.

You are correct! There is a hidden upkeep which is identical with the upkeep almost for all units. Units with 0 upkeep (such as towers, elementals) and gargoyle with his special ability have a different size.

This numbers may be helpful for your calculations:
Flamenkin - 10
Frostguard - 12
Changeling - 16
Gargoyle - 100

If you have any further questions feel free to ask.
Have a nice weekend ;)
