No, the boss creatures don't send spells against us, they just sit there absorbing the damage we deal out, and when they get angry they spit fire and cold and corrosion, but never spells.

Then what good is it? If it is only helpful against other players then it is pretty useless and makes dwarf fighter tree sucky.

It is probably good in Hades, the magic world, or if you have an enemy that loves spells, but otherwise most of us just ignore it. It turns up in every race's fighter tree if I remember right.

Yes it turns up in all races but dwarves get extra spots to use skill points in it. Undead get Necromancy, Elves get speed, Orcs get something like raided resources. So if you just ignore it, then dwarf fighter tree needs something useful like the rest get

Magic resistance isnt completely worthless...but it does depend on the server. If you get into a war with another alliance, or have a particularly bloody fort you are taking and your enemy is near, you will be spelled often. Magic resistance will save lives. Its use in relation to other skills though often leaves it unused. On servers with a beholder helm I take 1 point...and I can't ever remember a server where I justified taking more.

Agreed with you Carl it's relevance is obsolete at best...perhaps beefing up the resistance would help or just morphing it entirely into something else...like being able to pick a spell damage type and developing it to immunity...might be interesting.
